Prof dr. Michel van Putten is professor of clinical neurophysiology at the University of Twente (UT). He studied medicine in Leiden and Applied Physics in Delft. He graduated in Delft and specialized in neurology / clinical neurophysiology at the Leiden University Medical Center. In addition to his appointment at the UT, he works as a neurologist / clinical neurophysiologist at the Medical Spectrum Twente. His research focuses on a better understanding of brain function in relation to oxygen / energy deficiency and epilepsy, the EEG being an important measuring instrument.
In addition to research, he has a lot of interest in education and knowledge transfer to a general public.
